This Active BHS Horsecamp is exclusive to BHS Gold Members only. All other Active Rider Horsecamps are available to anyone. This event is subsidised by the BHS North West Region to provide an opportunity for its members to learn with their horses and also have a fun experience. Limited numbers at this Camp, first come first served. Stable ready after 4pm Friday, no access to the stable blocks prior.
You can arrive after 4pm on the Friday for the farm ride or join in on the Trec lessons. (see below)
2 disciplines per day included in the price, on Saturday and Sunday, choose from XC, Show jumping or Dressage. (Same disciplines both days). If there is room on the schedule you may be able to have extra lessons - see camp organiser when on site)
Horses Inside Out Exclusive Demo - on Saturday. Who will paint a horse on site allowing us to get an appreciation of the muscular skeletal system!
TREC group lessons on Friday from 4pm with Carolyn Hird-Rogers
Carolyn will coach in groups of no more than six riders:
Rider background
Getting the most out of the PTV section
What the obstacles represent
Course walk the obstacles
Explain what the judges are looking for
Actually "use/ride" with the obstacles
Professional photographer Birds Eye View will be in attendance.
Baileys Horse feeds holding 1-1's with riders and their horses, providing you with a personal feed assessment by a professional nutritionist. (Subject to availability)
Other specialists may be in attendance as well as course walks or other activities, attendees will receive a pre camp letter just prior to the camp to inform you of the activities etc.
Kelsall Hills own Haylage and Straw are included per stable. Shavings available at a cost of £5 per bag.
Professional caterer on site providing BBQ on the Friday night and a basic lunch/cereal breakfast. Guests welcome for BBQ dinner at £9.50 per pm meal.
Night out on Saturday night at the Cabbage Hall Restaurant, we have a function room secured. Highly recommended establishment, with great food. Pay for your own meal
Two Free tickets for the British Open or the HOYS to be drawn from completed critiques at the end of camp
Dogs are allowed on a lead
No electric hook ups are available please bring adequate lighting/heat etc for your accommodation.
Hay is not available from Kelsall, if you require your horse to eat hay then please provide your own.
Basic shower and toilets on site - not 5 star luxury, but shower is warm and wet.
Depart by 4pm sharp on Sunday (This is a strict Kelsall Hill Policy)
