Holistic Horse Show enthrals the crowds

Holistic Horse Show enthrals the crowds

The UK's first ever Holistic Horse Show enthralled masses of enthusiastic horse lovers last weekend.  The three day show, held at Towerlands in Essex, was packed out every day and received rave reviews from visitors, sponsors and exhibitors who applauded it as a hugely successful initiative for the industry.

"We have been bowled over by the reaction we received to the show," said Dani Paizis, event director and the show's founder. "Although we are very aware of the ever-growing hunger of the UK's horse lovers to discover more about holistic care and management, the eagerness and excitement of our visitors every day was even greater than we had anticipated. We are thrilled with the response."

The Show's sponsors Simple System Ltd, The BALANCE Organisation and Verm-X were equally delighted. Tim Warren, director of Simple System said: "The show's visitors were such receptive and focussed people who were desperate to learn more about the many rewards that an holistic approach to horses can bring. In its first year the show has already done so much for the equestrian holistic industry - giving us the opportunity to work strongly as a collective body for the good of the horse. "

The Holistic Horse Show was an unforgettable showcase for physical and spiritual therapies, behaviour training and holistic products. Leading practitioners captivated the audiences in the therapy centre with presentations and demonstrations ranging from saddle fitting to equine dentistry, feeding to footcare and a vast array of complementary therapies. Those with questions could enjoy one-to-one discussions with the experts afterwards. In the main arena international dressage rider Lucinda McAlpine, champion western rider David Deptford, canine freestyle supremo Richard Curtis and innovative equine biomechanist Gillian Higggins produced spellbinding performances that encapsulated beautifully the harmony between horses and animals - the ultimate accolade in holism.

Lynn Henry's inspirational Think Like a Pony workshops in the therapy centre drew massive crowds of children and adults. Having recently launched accredited courses on Applied Equine Behaviour, Lynn and two colleagues also took an exhibition stand at the show and they were thrilled with the interest received from visitors.

The holistic shopping mall was a constant bustle of excitement, giving visitors a unique opportunity to fill their shopping bags with a huge range of holistic products from bitless bridles to specialist saddles and horse feed. And when the shopping got too tiring they had the indulgent chance to sample complementary therapies and treatments and find out about new techniques, training and courses.

The Holistic Horse Show 2009 will be held on 23, 24 and 25 October at Unex Towerlands, Essex. For further information visit www.theholistichorseshow.co.uk or contact Dani Paizis, The Holistic Horse Show, telephone 01423 771 789, email dani@dspequineservices.co.uk
