Olympic stars head BHS Coaching Conference

Olympic stars head BHS Coaching Conference

Tickets are now available for the BHS National Coaching Conference on 10 November at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, where British Olympic medallists Lee Pearson and Sharon Hunt will share their expertise.

This is the first conference of its kind held by the BHS that will have coaching principles as its theme. It will prove invaluable to all BHS Registered Instructors and indeed, anyone involved in coaching and teaching.

Among the speakers is nine-times Paralympic Gold Medallist Lee Pearson. Lee, who is a member of The British Horse Society Hall of Fame, has amassed a whole host of wins throughout his incredible career, including competing successfully up to Prix St George level in able-bodied Dressage.

Lee will be joined on the day by long-standing Chef d'equipe of the British Eventing team, Yogi Briesner FBHS, and Eventing Team Bronze Medallist, Sharon Hunt. Sharon has experienced a fantastic rise to success with Tankers Town, a horse she bought and solely produced from a four-year-old through to Olympic glory.

The whole day will be centred around coaching and the supporting information and principles that make coaching successful. As well as talks by Yogi, Lee and Sharon, there will be sessions looking at rider fitness, exercise and lifestyle, sports psychology and an update from Suzanne Genery on the UK Coaching Certificate.

In addition, there will also be the opportunity throughout the day to ask questions of the presenters.

Margaret Linington-Payne, BHS Director of Standards said: "We are extremely pleased and excited to have such a prestigious line up of presenters. This is a not to be missed conference which will have something for everybody interested in coaching, teaching and instructing."
