New Pony Three Day Event Announced British Eventing is delighted to announce that Weston Park in Shropshire will host a CCNP2* for Ponies at its International fixture (7 - 10 October 2010) by kind permission of the Weston Park Trustees. Weston Park, which currently hosts the National Under 21 and KBIS JRN Championships as well as a CCI1*/2*, will add the CCNP2* to its list of classes. The organising team at Weston Park has a wealth of experience in running pony competitions, already running a selection trial at their spring fixture and the CCNP2* at Brand Hall. Pony competitions currently take place in the first half of the season and culminate in the European Championships in July. BE identified a need for this type and level of competition in the autumn calendar and with the growth in the number of ponies competing at this level over the last four years the demand is there to sustain the class and provide a pinnacle competition in the second half of the year.

The Plant family are delighted to have this opportunity to provide our FEI Pony Selectors with a chance to see the determination, dedication and preparation required by our pony competitors to compete at this CCNP2* level . The Weston Park team has had considerable experience producing Championship Pony tracks over the last 26 years and hope to make this traditional end of season event a real 'Eventing Festival of Youth'. Weston Park is hoping that a Sponsor can be found as this is a great opportunity promoting the youth of our sport and should be the backbone of teams to come.

Commenting on the selection of Weston Park Ginnie Keen, Chairman of Pony Selectors said: "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to have a three day at Weston Park; it will enable those pony riders who were not ready to compete in Spring Trials, but have gone well through the summer, to compete in a three day in preparation for the following year. Janet has done a great job in organising pony three days in the past so we know we can expect the best. Competing at the same time as the KBIS JRN and Under 21 Championship will give a wonderful atmosphere, and should make for a first class competition."

Weston Park is situated at Weston-under-Lizard on the A5, 7 miles West of Junction 12 off the M6, Junction 3 off M54.
