Stella has been at Hall Farm for the past 3 years. She arrived with bad laminitis in all four feet and had to have remedial shoeing. Stella was advertised on the website about 8 months ago but had to be removed from the re homing list as one of her front feet had started to land strangely which was concerning our farrier. He has been shoeing her with a bar shoe for the last 8 months and this seems to have corrected the way Stella places her foot and she is now shod with normal front shoes. Stella's feet are our biggest concern when trying to find her a new home as it is crucial that she is shod by a good farrier who will keep her feet well balanced. Stella is good to ride but can be nappy on hacks if hacking alone but is good in company. Stella will need a home where she is mainly hacked but she will be able to do the occasional lesson. She is on Farriers Formula and will need to remain on this when she goes out on loan. Stella is brilliant to handle and is the sweetest mare to groom, lead etc. She is also brilliant with the vet, farrier and dentist. Stella is currently living out but she would suit a routine of living in at night so that her grazing and weight could be monitored. Stella will need an experienced borrower who has dealt with laminitics before. You will need to be a competent rider as, like any horse Stella will test the boundaries! Stella has a maximum weight limit of 11 stone and she will need to have her saddle fitted by a qualified and registered saddle fitter before leaving Hall Farm. Please note, this could cost anything from £500 upwards so must be taken into consideration when applying for a ridden horse.
