About Voice For Horses

Voices for Horses  - Development

After two years in development a test site for Voices for Horses was launched in May 2006. In November 2007 a brand ‘new look' Voices for Horses was created incorporating ideas that had been requested and suggested by visitors to the original site. Our commitment  to continue developing and improving  Voices for Horses is based on what  members want  -  at the same time we will act in the best interest of the equestrian community and the equines on whose behalf we speak. This is the bedrock of our ethos.

How Voices for Horses came to be

Emma Kurrels the founder of Voices for Horses is also a freelance writer, trainer and advises in the Q&A section of Horse Magazine on equine behaviour. After studying and working in the UK, America and Australia with different training methods and researching the science of behaviour Emma became concerned by the amount of conflicting information being offered by so many different schools of thought. On her return to England in 1999 Emma became a co-founder of Company of Horses,  an organization dedicated to offering balanced education, combining academic theory with practical application in handling and training,  incorporating  how human behaviour and motivation shaped equine behaviour. During her career as a trainer Emma met people from amateur  to professional with concerns ranging across the board but often struggling to find solutions, help or support. This is how the seeds of Voices for Horses were sown.

Mules of a Beach

In 2006 Emma met Tony Scott from Akira Studio who was passionate about the concept and  had the vision and ability to turn  Voices for Horses into the site is it today. Along with his own team  Tony continues to work closely with Emma.  Together they will ensure that Voices for Horses remains the ultimate equestrian web site
